Frances Roberts
Former Peabody resident Frances J. Roberts, 86, of Buhler died Nov. 6, 2005, at Hutchinson Hospice House.
Born June 14, 1919, in Marion County, she was the daughter of Henry and Mary (Koslowsky) Rempel.
On June 15, 1941, she married G. Ernest Roberts. He died in 1972.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, Peabody, and was a Sunday school teacher, Sunday school superintendent, sang in the church choir, and was a member of Willing Workers Missionary Circle.
She worked for 16 years at Peabody Elementary School as a paraprofessional.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; four sisters, Helena Yakel, Agnes Dyck, Mary Dyck, and Esther Bain; and brother, Reuben Rempel.
Survivors include a son, Randy Roberts of Hutchinson; daughter, Melody Smith of San Antonio, Texas; sister, Mildred Rempel; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Wednesday morning at Prairie Lawn Cemetery, Peabody. A celebration of life service followed at First Baptist Church, Peabody.
A memorial fund has been established with Hospice of Reno County.
