Frances Patton

Frances Nadene Patton, 84, died Aug. 1, 2002, at Clay County Medical Center, Clay Center.

Born Oct. 2, 1917, near Hesston, she was the daughter of the late Nathaniel and Arletta (Glover) Blosser.

She was raised on a homestead in Chase County.

On Feb. 21, 1943, she married Marion Patton. They farmed in the Homestead community of Chase County prior to moving to Cottonwood Falls in 1965. They moved to Morganville in August 1967. He survives at the home in Morganville.

She and her husband worked at Farmers Co-Op Elevator, she as a bookkeeper, until her retirement in 1981.

She was a member of Homestead Friends Church, attended Morganville United Methodist Church, and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star at Morganville.

Other survivors include a son, N.M. Patton and his wife, Norma, of Peabody; daughters, Datha and her husband Craig Olney of Barrington, Ill., and Jerrie and her husband Bob Loader of Clay Center; sister, Opal Loucks of Fredonia; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and one sister.

Services were held Monday morning at the Clay Center United Methodist Church with burial following graveside services that afternoon in Prairie Grove Cemetery, Cottonwood Falls.

Memorial funds have been established in her name with Isis Shrine Crippled Children's travel and endowment fund and the Morganville United Methodist Church.
