Four students medal at Herington forensics tourney
Four Peabody-Burns High School students brought home medals Saturday from the Herington Invitational forensics tournament.
Jesse Riggs took second place in humorous solo acting. Ruth McLeod received a second place medal in serious solo acting. Anna Zappone took third in humorous solo acting. Chelsea Mackey brought home a fourth place medal in original oration speaking.
Other students participating and their competition categories were:
Jarred Weems, prose interpretation and informative speaking; Anna Zappone and Sherilyn Hill, improvised duet acting; Samantha Pickens and Erica Frederick, improvised duet acting. Sherilyn Hill and Ruth McLeod, duet acting. New squad member Kevin Benson was an observer.
Other schools competing were Council Grove, Marion, Hillsboro, Southeast of Saline, Centre, and Wakefield.
