Former resident proud of community

To the editor;

On March 2, I had the privilege of attending the fund raising for Katy and Mike Woodruff at the American Legion. I was so impressed with the organization of this event, as well as the cooperation of all involved. As one church crew finished their shift and another took over, there wasn't a hold up in the serving and it flowed like clock work.

Peabody, you can be proud of the efforts put out, the success, and "togetherness of the community!"

I've always been proud to be from Peabody, but never prouder than that Saturday as I watched everyone pull together to help a family having illness.

I especially want to thank Sharon and Donna for all their work, they didn't leave a leaf unturned! And for that wonderful fish Rod provided! I don't normally like fish, but that was wonderful! My hat is off to those two couples — Dennis and Sharon Pickens and Rod and Donna Hague — and to the community of Peabody!

Being able to see so many people from my years of living in Peabody was a special treat.

Rumor has it the event was a huge success, and that is what it was all about! God bless each of you for the work and donations.

Sincerely,

Aunt Max
