Forensics team earns medals at Herington
The Peabody-Burns High School forensics team competed March 10 at the Herington Invitational Forensics Tournament and brought home several medals.
Ruth McLeod earned a first place medal in serious solo action. Her performance also qualified her for the state competition in May.
Seth Methvin placed second in informative speaking and fourth in original oration. He also will compete at state in informative speaking.
Shelby Elliott tied for third in prose interpretation and will compete at state.
Charlie Rippe and Josh Klarmann placed eighth in improvised duet acting. Rippe placed eighth in humorous solo acting.
Other participants included Grant Buller, prose interpretation; Will Jaccard, prose interpretation; Seth Alstrom/Elliott, improvised duet acting.
Competing schools were from Chapman, Marion, White City, Centre, Wakefield, Hillsboro, Hope, Council Grove, and Lyons.
