Forensics students attend Berean, Hesston meets

Berean Academy hosted Heart of America League invitational forensics tournament Monday at Elbing. Nine schools participated in the competition.

Students from Peabody-Burns who brought home medals were Sherilyn Hill and Ruth McLeod, fourth place in duet acting; Jesse Riggs, fifth place in humorous solo acting; and Chelsea Mackey, sixth place in original oration speaking.

Students who placed in the competition were Anna Zappone, eighth in humorous solo acting; Jarred Weems, ninth in informative speaking; Anna Zappone and Sherilyn Hill, 10th in improvised duet acting; and Ruth McLeod.

Also participating from Peabody-Burns High School were Virgillia Stevenson in prose interpretation and Kevin Benson in poetry interpretation.

Forensics students are coached by Dorothy Rucker.

Hesston meet

The forensics team attended the Hesston Invitational Forensics Tournament Thursday.

Chelsea Mackey brought home a fifth place medal in original oration speaking.

Other PBHS students participating were Chloe Boley and Kevin Benson in poetry interpretation.

Other schools participating in the competition were Marion, Hillsboro, Sterling, Halstead, Smoky Valley, Little River, Hutch Trinity, Ellsworth, Andale, Lyons, Haven, Moundridge, and Nickerson.
