Forensics competition involves many students

The Peabody-Burns forensic team has been competing weekly. Students traveled to Council Grove Feb. 8 for an invitational meet involving 15 schools.

Sandra McLeod brought home a sixth place medal for serious solo acting and Frankie Stevenson placed sixth in prose interpretation.

Other PBHS competitors included Cody Horting, prose interpretation; Katy Schmidt, poetry interpretation; Tara O'Neill, serious solo acting; Jesse Riggs, humorous solo acting; Anna Zappone and Amanda Creel, duet acting; Holly Faunce and Jade Garcia, duet acting and improvised duet acting; and Ricky Hill and Jesse Riggs, improvised duet acting. Trinitie Anderson attended as an observer.

PBHS students brought home four more medals from an invitational tournament Feb. 15 at Southeast of Saline.

Jeconiah Spangler and Michael Unruh placed third in improvised duet acting, Krystal Brown placed fourth in serious solo acting, Spangler and Ricky Hill placed fifth in duet acting, and Katy Schmidt placed seventh in prose interpretation.

Other students representing Peabody-Burns among the 15 schools in the competition were Frankie Stevenson, Holly Faunce, Jade Garcia, Anna Zappone, Ashley Elliott, Charity Gwinup, Jesse Riggs, Maex Sammet, Sandra McLeod, Amanda Creel, and Tara O'Neill.

The squad will be competing in Marion Saturday.
