Sheriff Lou Richter and County Attorney Jay Hargett were down from Marion Tuesday afternoon in an effort to gain some information which might lead to locating Al Beeman, at one time manager for the Federal Supply Company in Florence. Evidence indicates that Beeman had forged several checks at Peabody and several other towns which were printed for the Oil Well Supply Company. During the oil development here Al Beeman was local manager for the Federal Supply and Machine Company which had holdings at the corner of Second and Marion streets. In the room in which Beeman stayed was found a telegram addressed to Al Beeman and was signed Mary Dixon. The officers were trying to learn the name of the wife of Dixon who played ball on the Florence team here during the boom time.
