Mr. and Mrs. H.E. Ford of Marion announce the engagement of their daughter, Juanita, to Carl Stovall, son of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Stovall of Florence.
About 150 members and friends of the Florence Christian Church gathered in the church basement last Thursday evening for a farewell dinner in honor of the pastor and his family. A committee composed of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Ireland, Mr. and Mrs. Fritz Koch and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Huntley made plans for the occasion. During Pastor Sumner's 14 months of service to the church, there have been 15 additions to the membership. A building fund was started and has grown to $4,000. Because of ill health, Mr. Sumner will not be able to continue in the active ministry at the present time.
