FLORENCE YESTERYEARS: 50 years ago

Friday evening, Harold Huntley took his Sunday school class to the Marion Lake for a wiener roast and swim. Those attending were Gary Carrol, Claney Suffield, Dale Williams, Douglas White, Harold Slater and Mr. and Mrs. Huntley and sons.
The city council voted to purchase a resuscitator Monday night and issued a warrant to pay half the total cost. The remainder of that amount will be paid by Marion County. The resuscitator will be kept on the city fire truck and will be delivered next week.
