The traditional tented circus of yesteryear lives on. Dailey Brothers Circus, one of America's oldest circuses, will set up its huge spread of canvas in Florence at the Floor Tac lot for one day only on Sunday, Oct. 3 to present a day of unparalleled circus entertainment. This visit of Dailey Brothers Circus to Florence is sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce. A portion of the proceeds from all circus tickets sold before Circus Day will be allocated to the Chamber for use in their charitable activities.
Plans are nearly completed for the 100th birthday anniversary celebration of the First Christian Church, Florence, on Sunday Oct. 17. Chairman of the board, Martin Tice, will present the church history, followed by the Swing Singers from Marion High School. Letters and correspondence from friends and former members will be read by Chairman Tice.
