Florence: Visitors, events fill New Year s holiday

Don and Twylah Nightengale attending a "sibling" dinner New Year's Day at the home of Ron and Fern Goodwin in Burns. Others attending were Leland and Julia Stucky, Frank and Emmy Midkaff, and Dennis and Sherri Schmidt, all of Newton, Rex and Berneda Jewell of Manhattan, Jim and Beulah Goering and Donna and Calvin Schmidt of Moundridge, and Robert and Bonnie Schmidt of Marion.

Ronald and Kathleen Ludwig attended a New Year's Eve party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Taylor in Marion. Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. Max Blanding of Wichita.

Jean Everett and Joe were New Year's Eve overnight guests of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Swift in Matfield Green.

Don and Twylah Nightengale were Thursday visitors of Pastor Peter Banning and Harold and Norene Brown of Council Grove.

Tim and Janette Parmley visited Saturday with Bud and LeEsta Hanes in Newton.

Monte Wyss of Albuquerque, N.M., visited Friday with Richard and Lucille Wyss.

Janet Turner of Eureka and Carol Nightengale of Topeka visited Monday with Don and Twylah Nightengale.

Members and guests of Florence United Methodist Church celebrated New Year's Eve at the home of Rod and Twilah Williams for a "pitch in and help" card party. Attending were Joyce Hett, Mary Olsen, Jackie Hett, Paul Atkins, and Pastor Vern and Arlene Bowers of Marion, Richard and Dolores Mann of Cedar Point, Roberta Winter, Rick and Margaret Burcky, Mary Jane Grimmett, Les Allison, Chuck and Kathy DeForest, and Carol Kutz. The group had communion at the church to end 2004.
