Florence UMC to offer budget workshop
The Good Sense Budget Course will be offered to the public Sept. 10-11 at Florence United Methodist Church.
The course will be offered from 6:45 to 9 p.m. Sept. 10 and from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sept. 11. Lee Sankey from Kansas Area United Methodist Foundation, will be the facilitator. A continental breakfast, lunch, and breaks will be provided for each person attending.
Workshop participants will develop a spending plan for the coming year. Each person or couple will learn how to choose between three different record-keeping systems to help them stick to the plan they develop.
"Helping people learn how to effectively manage their financial resources is a goal of Florence United Methodist Church," said Les Allison, chairman of the congregation's outreach committee.
A registration fee of $10 per person or $15 per couple is due at the church office by Sept. 8. The fee will cover materials. Registrants will receive a packet of pre-work materials at registration to be completed prior to the workshop.
