Florence to hold primary Feb. 25 years ago
Four people have filed for the mayor's race at Florence and three have filed for the second ward position on the city council.
According to Mary Harrison of the county clerk's office, the number of candidates has to be reduced to two for each position for the April 1 general election.
Therefore, the city of Florence will conduct a Feb. 25 primary. The top two vote getters in each position will be in the general election.
Mayoral candidates are M. Jeanie Meirowsky, John E. Lehman, Dell E. Leeds, and Mary F. Britton.
City council candidates from the second ward are Timothy L. Parmley, Rick C. Turner, and Beverly S. Baldwin.
Residents can cast their votes at Florence Senior Center or they may request advance voting by calling the county clerk's office at 382-2185.
