Florence: Residents celebrate Christmas with family, friends

Ray and Eleanor Davidson were overnight guests Friday of the Jeff Davidson family of rural Eureka.

Richard and Lucille Wyss left Wednesday afternoon to attend the funeral of Richard's brother, Robert Wyss, at Onaga. They returned home Thursday.

Don and Twylah Nightengale spent Christmas Day with Janet and Bud Turner of Eureka. Other guests were Luke and Kris Turner and family of Eureka, Carol Nightengale of Topeka, Luke and Danielle Turner of Emporia, Russ Turner of Kansas City, Paul Midkiff of Colorado, and Frank and Emmy Midkiff of Newton.

Christmas dinner guests of Tim and Janette Parmley were James and Melissa Parmley, Cody and Corin of Cedar Point, and Travis and Andi Parmley of Great Bend.

Post Christmas guests Sunday of Mary Jane Grimmett were Justin and Rachelle Grimmett and Ethan of Lindsborg and Tyson and Melanie Grimmett, Bethany and Heidi of Marion.

Friday evening Richard and Lucille Wyss attended the Christmas program at the Ebeneezer church near Burns.

Christmas dinner guests of Joy and Orville Vannocker were Bill Welch of Madison, Russ and Nick Vannocker and Reese of El Dorado, Cherie and Marlin Satterfield and Shawn, Pam Herzet and Quinn of Newton, Brad and Becky Vannocker and Jessica of Hillsboro, Melissa Parmley, Cody and Corin of Cedar Point.

Christmas dinner guests of Betty Ireland were Kris, Nick, Matthew, and Kimberlee Ireland of Topeka, Wanda Vaupel and Kate of Wichita, and Wava Ireland of El Dorado. Wava was a Christmas Eve overnight guest. Mrs. John Padgett was an afternoon visitor.

Richard and Lucille Wyss attended a 50th birthday celebration for her nephew, Sam LaFever, held in Florence.

Richard and Dolores Mann of Cedar Point were evening visitors Sunday of Don and Twylah Nightengale.

Post Christmas dinner guests of Jean Everett Sunday were Mary Jane Grimmett, Justin and Rachelle Grimmett and Ethan of Lindsborg, Tyson and Melanie Grimmett, Bethany and Heidi of Marion, Linda and Ed Hepburn of Benton, Travis Swift of Bel Air, John and Arletta Everett and Tom Everett of Cedar Vale, and Lisa Everett of Johnson. The Justin Grimmett and Tyson Grimmett families visited Mary Grimmett that afternoon.

Richard and Lucille Wyss were Christmas Day dinner guests of Jeff and Lynda Wyss and family. They were in Marion that evening at the home of Marvin and Paula Wyss and family.

Spending Christmas at the home of Marie Land were Jackie and Becky Crump, Madison, Sandy Riggs, Chris and Stephanie Snyder, Shannon Larson, and the Eric Riggs family of Newton, Rick and Margaret Burcky, Brian and Kara Hinton, Jack Meredith, Kathy Maloun, and Shirley Cardin, all of Florence, Tasha Hancock of Marion, Ethel Shelburn, Kristie Metcalf, Misty Keel of Eureka, and Bill Humphreys of Kansas City. All enjoyed a delicious meal, opened presents, and sat around visiting. Phone calls from Canada and Texas were received to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.

Visitors Sunday evening of Betty Ireland were Gus and Mildred Hamm of Tampa and John and Joyce Padgett.

Christmas Day guests of Ronald and Kathleen Ludwig were Tawnya and Steve Sokoll and Corinn of Wichita, Scott and Rolana Heidebrecht and boys, Jo Allen, Audra and Raelene of Marion, Doug Ludwig, and Dan Ludwig.

Ronald and Kathleen Ludwig were supper guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Taylor of Marion.
