Florence enthusiastic about PRIDE
A community meeting Oct. 5 in Florence attracted 70 people concerned about city improvements.
A chili supper, free to all attendees, was served by the PRIDE steering committee. A general discussion of possible improvements and projects for Florence followed the meal.
Sue Klassen, PRIDE chairman, was pleased with the turn out and the number of suggestions for community improvements.
The group prioritized the recommendations and came away with a list of a dozen projects important to Florence.
Some of the suggestions, such as a community center and street improvement, will serve as long term goals and will require a considerable sum of money.
Others, like planting trees around Grandview Park and property improvement by individuals, will be less costly or can be completed by volunteers.
The group will begin holding regular meetings this month. The public is welcome to attend.
