Florence chamber to sponsor Easter egg hunt

The Florence Chamber of Commerce announces that it has been in communication with the Easter Bunny and that he will be making a stop in Florence for an egg hunt.

Chamber members will prepare the eggs for hiding at noon March 26 at the Florentine Center. The Easter Bunny will have them ready for youngsters to find at 10:30 a.m. March 30 at Grandview Park.

Volunteers wishing to help with the project should contact Dan Ludwig or Kelly Linnens.

Members heard a report from Dan Ludwig about the vote on the new city building.

Ludwig also announced Congressman Jerry Moran's planned stop at Burns March 18 and urged interested Chamber members to attend.

Holding a July 3rd fireworks display as a possible fund raiser was discussed. The project was rejected after it was discovered that anyone shooting that kind of fireworks needs to have a license and special schooling.

Members were encouraged to attend the Spring Fling April 13-14 downtown. Activities will include a bratwurst feed, a cake walk, entertainment, and activities for children. The Spring Fling is an annual fund raiser for the Labor Day committee.

It was announced that the summer ball program was in need of volunteers to coach the teams and umpire the games. Volunteers also will be needed to repair the lighting at the field and get the field in shape for the summer season.

Members were encouraged to participate.

The next Chamber meeting will be April 4 in the Florentine center.
