Florence business is 'noteworthy attraction'
The winter edition of KANSAS! magazine is out and a new business at Florence is among the state attractions in a section entitled "15 reasons we love Kansas."
Doyle Creek Mercantile is listed in the number two spot of the section which regularly highlights unique sights, noteworthy attractions, businesses, and events across the state.
The business is highlighted as an agritourism destination set against the backdrop of the Flint Hills. The Mercantile carries a little bit of everything from canned vegetables and fruits to clothing, candles, and greeting cards.
The business is owned by Judy Mills and her daughter Sara Neal. In addition to an unusual retail inventory, the building also houses a bed and breakfast and the office for the Mills' cattle operation.
The store is open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
