Fireworks sponsors still needed for event
Kristi Silvernale of the Peabody Fourth Fest committee said June 6 that the group still is seeking sponsors for some set pieces in the July Fourth fireworks show.
"The windmill, the Liberty Bell, and the Kansas City Chiefs set pieces all need sponsors," she said.
"Of course, the Battle of New Orleans (the grand finale) can always use more help. And there still are aerials in need of sponsors."
Silvernale said that so far the group has spent more than $8,000 and is planning to bring the public a better show.
Buttons for the Fourth Fest have been distributed to area merchants and can be purchased for $2 prior to the Fourth of July. The button is good for admission to the fireworks show and other activities. The price will go up to $3 the day of the celebration.
Donations for the fireworks should be sent to Shawna Winter, 510 N. Vine, Peabody KS.
