Firefighters plan Labor Day events at county lake
Marion County Firefighters are planning a day and evening of family activities and entertainment Sept. 3 at Marion County Lake hall at Marion County Park and Lake.
Organizers appreciate current sponsorships but are encouraging others to become involved in the countywide fund-raiser.
This year's event is hosted by Peabody Fire Department.
Kid's games with prizes will be from 2 to 5 p.m., equipment display and demonstrations from 4 to 6 p.m., food served from 5 to 8 p.m., and drawings at 8 p.m.
A fireworks show will follow at dark.
Prizes include a Henry Golden Boy .22 s/l/lr rifle, La-Z Boy recliner, and rides for children on a fire truck to start the first round of fireworks.
Donations will assist with the purchase of land and development of a training facility for Marion County firefighters.
