Final report on Jacobs death still pending
Peabody Police Chief Jeff Pohlman reported Tuesday that the body of Frances Jacobs had been released by Sedgwick County Forensics Center. However, Pohlman said he had not yet received the final report on the cause of death.
Jacobs died Feb. 17 in her Peabody home. Her body was discovered when a neighbor entered the house to check on her after she missed an appointment.
An obituary appears elsewhere in this edition of the Peabody Gazette-Bulletin.
Other police activity reported by Pohlman included the Sunday arrest of John Nettleton, Peabody, on charges of kidnapping and rape. Nettleton was arrested following the investigation of a complaint filed against him. "There was enough probable cause to make an arrest," said Pohlman.
The case remains under investigation, awaiting court procedures. Nettleton is free on $25,000 bond.
Dustin Glen, Peabody, was arrested Wednesday after his probation was revoked through Peabody Municipal Court for not complying with probation requirements.
Colby Smith, Kansas City, was arrested at 9th and Maple and booked into Marion County Jail on an outstanding warrant for failure to comply with a traffic citation.
