FFA members work in ag-education building at fair
Twenty-four Peabody-Burns FFA members participated in the Kansas State Fair by working in the Agriculture-Education building and the Agriland booths.
Members who worked in the Agriculture-Education booth taught lessons to grade school students in the area of plant and food science. The plant science lesson had students propagating plants and allowing students to take a cutting home. Food science lesson included information about grains. FFA members cooked pancakes for each student.
Members in the Agriland booth worked with the Kansas Agri-Women group. The booth was a stop for grade school students to learn about agriculture. Students sat in a combine cab to see what it is like to harvest crops, were weighed, and saw the different crops grown in Kansas.
Christopher Brooks, Ryan Johnson, Josh Johnson, and Eric Buller participated in the tractor troubleshooting competition at the fair. The team of Brooks and R. Johnson placed third in the A team division. J. Johnson and Buller placed fourth in the B team division.
