FFA members attend state convention
Members of Peabody-Burns FFA chapter attended the Kansas FFA state convention, Wednesday through Friday on the campus of Kansas State University.
Those attending were Derek Benson, Ben Jantzen, Priscilla Partridge, Jason Unruh, Jessica Gillet, Amber Spechtenhauser, Leann Spinden, and sponsor Sonya Roberts.
Spechtenhauser participated in the state FFA choir during the convention. She performed concerts on both Thursday and Friday. This is the second year she has participated.
Spinden was a state officer candidate and was announced as a nominee for reporter. She also was recognized for placing fourth in the leadership information test and received a national FFA scholarship for $3,000 and a state FFA scholarship for $1,000.
Benson participated in the state job interview competition and placed fifth overall.
The chapter also had an entry in the scrapbook event and placed in the silver division.
Members attended all sessions and heard many outstanding speakers. The next event for the officer team will be the July state conference for chapter leaders.
