Fern Frans-Palmer
Fern Frans-Palmer, 89, died Feb. 20, 2007, at St. Luke Hospital, Marion.
Born Sept. 24, 1917, at Indianola, Neb., she was the daughter of William and Ellen (Zimmerman) Whisler.
She was owner and operator of the Burger Shake restaurant in Marion.
On April 25, 1937, she married Charles Frans. He died in 1980.
On May 22, 1981, she married Delmer Palmer. He died in 1995.
She was a member of VFW Auxiliary Post #6958.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Frans in 1965.
Survivors include four sons, Bill Frans of Jacksonville, Fla., Roger Frans of Boulder, Colo., Myron Frans of Minneapolis, Minn., and Terry Frans of Abilene; a daughter, Bernadine Obermeyer of Eureka; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at Marion Christian Church with the Rev. Carl Helm officiating.
Burial was in Marion Cemetery.
Memorial funds have been established with Marion Christian Church or the MHS Alumni Scholarship Fund in care of Zeiner Funeral Home.
