Farmers market meeting is well-attended
An outstanding crowd of vendors and potential vendors for the Doyle Valley Farmers Market group met recently at the Jones Sheep Farm Bed and Breakfast.
Members brought their favorite seed catalogs which made for lots of conversation. Some catalogs and seed and plant offers were mentioned that buyers need to be warned about!
The group decided to have a cookbook using member's recipes which use farm and garden products.
The next meeting will be at the home of Frank and Joleen Burns, near Hesston. Chili and cornbread will be featured with assorted desserts. Guest speaker will be John Ruebke of Hesston, a former greenhouse grower and now a vendor at various area markets. Meetings are at 7 p.m. and any interested vendor is invited.
