Etta Melick
Etta Virginia Melick, 94, Whitewater, died April 20, 2003, at Wheat State Manor nursing home.
She was a long time resident of Whitewater, a homemaker, and former cashier in women's stores at Wichita.
She was born Sept. 7, 1908, in Sumner County, the daughter of the late John Robert and Adeline Bell (Smith) Hearlson.
On Dec. 27, 1931, she married Victor Murdock "Bus" Melick at Oklahoma City, Okla. He died Jan. 5, 1981.
She was a member of Whitewater Federated Church, Ivy Leaf Chapter of OES, Wichita Kids Club, Friendship Club, and Federated Church Women's Fellowship.
Survivors include nieces and nephews, including Jim and Barbara Jackson of Whitewater.
Services were held today, Wednesday, at the church with burial in Wichita Park Cemetery.
