Eston Bud Larsen

Eston "Bud" Larsen, 87, of Hutchinson, died Sept. 15, 2005.

Born July 17, 1918, in Marion County, he was the son of Alfred and Carrie (Robertson) Larsen.

He was a 1938 graduate of Peabody High School.

A farmer/stockman, he was a longtime resident of the Burrton area, moving to Hutchinson in 1994.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a fireman at the former Hutchinson Naval Air Station.

On Aug. 8, 1941, he married Betty Mae Stryker at Newton.

He was a member of Burrton United Methodist Church and American Legion Post #196 of Burrton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jerry; brother, Linford; and sister, Bernyce Lambert.

Survivors include three daughters, Beverly Fast and Diane Caffrey, both of Hutchinson and Patty Scott of Lenexa; brother, Wayne Larsen of Mulvane; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday morning at Grace Bible Church, Hutchinson, with Pastor Rick Goertzen officiating.

Burial was in Burrton Cemetery with full military honors.

A memorial fund has been established with Hospice House, Hospice of Reno County.
