Enrique Sanseda

Enrique E. "Hank" Sanseda, 64, of Newton, died Oct. 15, 2006, at Newton Medical Center.

Born July 15, 1942, in Newton, he was the son of Phillip and Susan (Epsita) Sanseda.

He was a Newton High School graduate where he played baseball and went to state in wrestling.

On Sept. 26, 1964, he married Rita Rodriguez in Newton. She survives.

He retired from the railroad and Agco, and worked various part-time jobs, most recently at Wal-Mart.

He served in the U.S. Army.

A people-person and hard worker, Hank was an avid bowler and golfer. He loved baseball and play both fast and slow pitch. He recently was named to the Mexican-American Athletic Club of Newton Hall of Fame.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife of the home; two daughters, Kathy Johns of Newton and Annette Paronto of Valley Center; a son, Phillip Sanseda of Newton; and eight grandchildren.

A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Oct. 18, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, Newton. Services are at 10 a.m. Oct. 19, at the church, the Rev. Father Floyd officiating. Burial is at Prairie Lawn, Peabody Cemetery.
