Engagement: Berns, Holopirek
Fred and Lynn Berns, Peabody, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Rachel Potter Berns to Robert Paul Holopirek, son of Rollie and Marie Holopirek, LaCrosse.
Grandparents of the couple are Joan Berns, of Peabody the late John Berns; the late Frederic and Helen Worthen; of North Andover, Mass.; and Robert and Glenna Rose Holopirek and Paul and Angie Herman, all of LaCrosse.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Peabody-Burns High School and is a senior in the school of education at the University of Kansas.
The prospective bridegroom is a graduate of LaCrosse High School and Fort Hays State University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in biology. He currently is teaching and coaching at Wellsville High School.
An Oct. 14 wedding is planned at St. John's Nep. Church, Pilsen.
