Eloise Truax

Eloise Truax, 93, Newton, died Jan. 3, 2003, at Friendly Acres Retirement Community.

She was born Feb. 28, 1909, at Peabody, the daughter of the late Charles and Bessie (Funk) Cockley.

She was married to John Willard Truax in 1932 at Wichita. He died in 1984.

She was a homemaker and piano teacher who lived in Manhattan, Emporia, and Newton. She also was active in Salem United Methodist Church in Newton.

Survivors include a daughter, Ann Moench of Henderson, Nev., and a sister, Ruth Pankratz of Newton; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Friendly Acres Chapel with Chaplain Pam Martinez officiating.

Memorial funds have been established at Youthville and Friendly Acres.
