Ella Franz

Ella E. Franz, 95, of Showalter Villa, Hesston, died Nov. 13, 2005.

Born Feb. 17, 1910, at Buhler, she was the daughter of the Rev. John Janzen and Elizabeth (Ediger) Franz.

She was a professor of music at Tabor College, Hillsboro, and taught music in the public school system. She was a former church secretary in Wichita and worked in various libraries. For a short time, she also worked for the Mennonite Central Committee in Mexico.

Survivors include two sisters, Esther Franz and Margaret Kroeker, both of Hesston; three nephews; a niece; and other relatives.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Miller Funeral Home, Hesston.

Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Buhler City Cemetery, Buhler.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Showalter Villa Chapel, Hesston, with Pastor Howard Berglund, Pastor Cheryl Hershberger, and Chaplain Beverly Baumgartner officiating.

Memorial funds have been established with the music department of First Baptist Church of McPherson or Showalter Villa, Hesston.
