Earline Kimmel
Earline E. Kimmel, 84, died June 2, 2008, at Legacy Park, Peabody.
Born Sept. 17, 1923, at Shirley, Okla., she was the daughter of Charlie and Dessie (Brewer) Gibson.
She was a loving sister, aunt, grandmother and friend who spent many years working alongside her parents, assisting with the care of her siblings.
The family moved from Oklahoma to Nevada, settling in California where she met her husband, Dexter Kimmel.
The couple lived in California, Nevada, and Alaska before settling on a farm in Arkansas, where she helped with the farming and cared for livestock. She also took care of her son, Dean and other household tasks.
She lived in the McCaskill, Ark., area for approximately 30 years, moving to Mariposa, Calif., in 2004, with her brother and wife, Leo and Rosie Gibson. They moved to Peabody in 2006, where she became a resident of Legacy Park.
She enjoyed life and had a strong faith and beliefs of the Christian Church Assembly of God.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Haroldean (Dean) Kimmel; and three brothers, Oron Gibson, Ernest Gibson, and Novi Gibson.
Survivors include two brothers, Leo and Rosie Gibson of Peabody and Leonard and Fayrene Gibson of Merced, Calif.; brother-in-law, Athel Kimmel; grandsons, Jim Sutherland of Washington and Jason Kimmel of Wyoming; aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces; lifelong friends in California and Arkansas as well as friends in Peabody, especially Katherine Steele of Arkansas.
A memorial service will be conducted at a later date at Friendship Cemetery, McCaskill, Ark.
A memorial fund has been established with the Alzheimer's Disease association.
