Driver charged with offenses
An incident report filed by Marion Police Officer James Parmley stated at 4:45 a.m. Aug. 29, the officer witnessed a vehicle run into a curb in the 200 block of South Fourth Street, Marion.
When Parmley attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver fled in the vehicle until it hit a garage in the 400 block of North Fourth Street. The driver of the vehicle ran on foot and was apprehended a short time later.
The driver was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, fleeing or attempting to elude a law enforcement officer, reckless driving, and obstructing the legal process or official duty.
