Dorothy Baldwin
Dorothy H. Baldwin, 77, died Sept. 13, 2004, at her home in Newton.
Born March 6, 1927, at Preston, she was the daughter of Harry and Sarah (Lee) Hartsell.
On Sept. 15, 1942, she married Harrison F. Baldwin at Hugoton. He died in 1994.
She worked for many years in the dietary and environmental services departments of Newton Presbyterian Manor.
She enjoyed working in her garden and flower bed and reading. She also made Raggedy Ann dolls for family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four sons, Leslie, Jim, Harrison Jr., and Dale Baldwin; seven sisters; two brothers; and a grandson.
Survivors include two daughters, Goldie Lagree and husband Tom and Diane Miller, all of Newton; three sons, Ben Baldwin and wife Barbara of Albuquerque, N.M., Robert Baldwin and wife Linda of Moundridge, and Phillip Baldwin of Marion; a daughter-in-law, Beverly Baldwin of Florence; two sisters, Ruby Hipp of Rolla and Marge Wymore of El Dorado; a sister-in-law, Alta Hartsell of Yakima, Wash.; 22 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Peterson Funeral Home Chapel, Newton, with the Rev. Jeanine Rishelle officiating.
Burial was in Restlawn Gardens of Memory, Newton.
A memorial fund has been established with Hospice Care of Kansas.
