Donors needed for Peabody blood drive

Progressive Mothers Club is sponsoring a blood drive in Peabody. The American Red Cross bloodmobile will be at United Methodist Church from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Donors must be in general good health, be at least 17 years old, and weigh no less than 110 pounds. Volunteer blood donors also must show identification at registration (a Red Cross donor card, valid driver's license, or other form of official photo identification).

People donating will be given a light meal upon completion. Each donor also will receive a T-shirt.

Walk-in donors are welcome, but appointments can be scheduled by calling 1-800-GIVE-LIFE.

Central Plains Blood Region, Kansas and Northern Oklahoma, was recently selected to receive the first "Red Cross Region of the Year" award. For more than 55 years Central Plains Blood Region has collected, processed, and distributed blood products and earned a reputation of excellence.
