Details given on meth lab in Florence
Marion County Sheriff's officers report the following situations:
A 911 call about a possible meth lab in a residence at 101 W. Fourth, Florence, between 12 and 6:15 a.m. Sept. 30, had officers doing a knock and talk at the home in question.
In plain view officers said they saw drugs and paraphernalia, so they backed off and got a search warrant. Individuals at the home were arrested for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Sergeant Jeff Soyez reports that found inside the home were one broken syringe, one syringe containing 30 units of meth valued at $1,200, one spoon with cottonball, and one other syringe.
Individuals were having a beer party at a pond at Nighthawk and U.S.-50 between 12:45 and 3:07 a.m. Sept. 8, reports Sergeant Soyez. All were minors and the party was held on private property. Officers found 18 beers, valued at $17.50.
While an individual was attempting to bond out of jail with the use of a two-party check, an investigation revealed the check to be stolen and forged by the suspect. Officer Rollin Schmidt reports this offense occurred at 10 p.m. Oct. 2, and the check belonged to Piet Coetzee Cronje of 1938 Falcon, Hillsboro.
