Denise Krause earns doctoral degree
More than 420 physicians, dentists, nurses, allied health professionals, and graduate students in the health sciences were awarded degrees during the University of Mississippi Medical Center's 51st Commencement May 25 at the Mississippi Coliseum in Jackson.
Denise DeAnn Krause, daughter of Bill and Shirley Krause of Peabody was among the graduates.
Krause earned the Ph.D. in preventive medicine. She earned a BA at the University of Kansas in 1987, an MA at Monterey Institute of International Studies in 1989 and an MS at UMC in 2003.
Dr. Krause has been computer administrator at the University of Mississippi Medical Center's School of Dentistry since she supervised the installation of the dental school network several years ago. She also is a member of the dental school faculty and supervises a research project for the school.
Immediately after commencement exercises, Krause, her son Alexander, and a friend, noted Mississippi artist Ellen Langford, left for Peabody where they attended the 25th reunion of Peabody High School class of 1982.
During the weekend they visited with Krause's parents and other relatives in Newton, Wichita, and El Dorado.
