Last Sunday evening, a tramp went to the box car in the Rock Island yards in which a Mexican lives and demanded coffee. This being refused, the tramp struck the Mexican on the head with small irons fastened to a string, inflicting wounds necessitating several stitches. The tramp was captured and is now at the county jail serving a 90 day sentence.
Mrs. G. B. Waltie went to Newton Saturday to see her mother, Mrs. Callesen, at Axtell Hospital.
Mrs. Addie Hock is visiting her sister, Mrs. George Keller, in Newton.
The electric light plant at McPherson was destroyed by fire last week.
