Sgt. and Mrs. Wm. L. Reed and daughter from Honolulu came last Saturday for an extended visit with Mr. Reed's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Reed.
Glenn Nellans had his tonsils and adenoids removed Thursday morning.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Newton and daughter Betty left last Wednesday for a week's visit in Missouri going directly to Lee's Summit from here. Margaret Johnston accompanied them as far as Kansas City where she will remain for a couple of weeks visiting relatives.
The City Council is announcing this week a new "summer rate" to water users, so that lawns, trees and gardens may be saved through the hot months by a more liberal use of water. This action by the Council makes the rate to the consumer drop to 10c per thousand gallons after the first 5,000 gallons, which will no doubt be an inducement for water users to use water freely this summer.
