Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Baskins announce the engagement of their daughter, Janice, to Michael Hodges, son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl L. Hodges of Florence. Miss Baskins a graduate of Peabody High School is now a linotype operator at the Gazette-Herald office and Mr. Hodges, also a graduate of Peabody High School, is now in the Navy stationed at San Diego, Calif.
Ted Lackey and daughters, Janet, Mary, Pat, Dorothy, and Karen, all enjoyed a picnic supper Sunday evening at the home of Mrs. Gertie Spangler near Florence.
Guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jewell Davis over the Fourth were her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Williams, and Mrs. Bob Harper of Wamego.
Sue Ullum, Sara Truax, and Donna Aten are at Sedan this week attending CYF Conference camp. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Draper took the girls as far as Augusta Sunday. The camp ends Saturday.
Warren "Duger" Watts returned to work in the shop at Temples following his week's vacation.
