Winners in the big horseshoe pitching tournament last week was the team of Marion Reiswig and Vernon 'Teapot' Harsh. Second place winners were Bill Prieb and Elmer Foth with third going to L. R. Decker and Abe Williams. The Chamber of Commerce gave the prizes of $8, $5, and $2.
Pfc. Duane Sheridan arrived home last Wednesday from Fairbanks, Alaska, to spend a 30-day leave with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. D.R. Sheridan.
Mr. and Mrs. John Wolfersperger and son Johnny of Wichita, who were on their way to Peabody Saturday night, were in an accident. Mr. Wolfersperger was blinded by the lights of an oncoming car when the driver failed to dim them. Their car left the highway and hit a pile of cement which had been taken out of the highway and left at the side of the road. Johnny and Mr. Wolfersperger were treated for minor scratches, Mrs. Wolfersperger was treated, then taken to Axtell Christian Hospital in Newton as a precautionary measure. She was dismissed on Monday.
Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Wallace and Dean have moved into their new home on North Walnut Street.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill McPheeters, Mr. and Mrs. L. R. Decker, and Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Homan were in Hutchinson Tuesday attending the fair.
