Harry H. Brown, who is retiring from teaching after 44 years in the classroom, was the guest of honor at a special reception and program Saturday night.
Ronnie Slaymaker arrived home from the Canal Zone last Friday evening on a month's furlough. He has been stationed there for several months.
Peabody receives law enforcement safety award. Peabody was one of only seven cities of 2,000 or less in the state to be given the traffic law enforcement award. Officers responsible for the enforcement were Marshall Bill Reed, H.A. Derby, and Darwin McIntosh.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Gaede announce the engagement of their daughter, Imogene, to Robert Britton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse A. Britton of Florence. No date has been set for the wedding.
