Kansas State University's 1962 summer school has set an all-time record with an enrollment of more than 2,700 students. Those from Peabody attending this summer include Ann Windsor, Melvin Burdorf, Robert Davis, and Lloyd Douglas Gillet.
Betty Thomas was honored with a linen shower Thursday in the basement of the Christian church. The hostesses were Caroline Fisher, Evelyn Searles, Margaret Holler, and Roberta Blankley of Florence
The Jean Marie Powell Circle met July 11 with Miss Mina Fitch with Mrs. Harvey Gaines as assistant at a 9 o'clock coffee. Roll call was responded to by 16 members and two guests, Mrs. Robert Moffett and Mrs. A. L. Bowyer.
Mrs. Bruce Smith and daughters, Barbara and Brenda, and Mrs. Bill Sears came from Manhattan Wednesday to visit their parents, Mr. and Mrs. John DeForest and Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Slocombe. They returned home Friday and Linda DeForest accompanied them to spend several days.
