DAYS OF YORE: 25 years ago

When Mrs. Lawrence McClure of Peabody made a long skirt for her daughter, complete with hand creweling and embroidered down the entire front of the skirt, she probably did not expect to win prizes with it. However, the skirt recently won a 2nd place ribbon in the Alaska State Fair at Palmer. Mrs. McClure gave the skirt to her daughter, Mrs. Jack Hughes, the former Chris McClure. The Hughes live in Glennallen, Alaska.

Mrs. Robert Kerbs entertained the Peabody Senior Citizens with a musical program Tuesday after the fellowship meal.

The Fairplay quilting ladies met Sept. 16 with Mrs. R.H. Penner for a covered dish dinner.
