The team lost, but the cheerleaders won. A group of enthusiastic cheerleaders did their best to urge the Peabody team to victory Saturday night in the Hesston "Almost Anything Goes" game. Their team lost but the cheerleaders, Barb Nottingham, Colleen Yoder, Marian Philpott, and Sharon Pickens, won the sportsmanship trophy.
Wilbur Leppke, Martin Koslowsky, and Miss Georgia Lamberson attended a mid-year meeting at Wichita West Side Baptist Church Saturday evening. The session represented two associations of the South Central area of the Kansas Baptist Conference.
James Unruh of Peabody participated in the 4-H Western United States tractor operators event at the Ar-Sar-Ben sports arena in Omaha.
The duet of Jamie Crawford and Brenda Gillet were among the contestants in the Emporia State University Freshman Talent Show.
