TWENTY-FIVE YEARS AGO

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Burdorf, formerly of rural Peabody, moved into their new home on Maple Street this past week.

Mr. and Mrs. Duane Unruh have moved to Peabody from their home in Emporia. They have purchased the small acreage at the west edge of Peabody and moved there Saturday. Duane will be employed at the Peabody Sausage House.

Jeff and David Mellott returned Friday evening from Hutchinson. They attended the five-day Karen Russell Horsemanship Clinic at the state fair grounds.

Denis Yoder has been hired as 6th grade teacher at Herington for next year, the Emporia State placement service reports. He will graduate from Emporia in August with a teaching certificate. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Yoder of Peabody and a graduate of Peabody High School.

Chuck Good, a senior majoring in accounting from Peabody, is one of 63 students participating in the U.S. Small Business Administration's Management Assistance program, known as the Small Business Institute, according to Dr. Joseph Barton-Dobenin, director of the SBI project for Kansas State University at Manhattan.
