Silkworms are again being cultivated in the Peabody area. Kay Jones and Susan Good obtained their supply from Mrs. Mary Truax of rural Peabody, who has an experimental lot at her home.
Friends of Rev. and Mrs. Henry Murray, he being a former pastor of the Peabody Methodist Church, are invited to join with other friends in congratulating the Murrays on their 40th wedding anniversary Wednesday. In addition, Henry will retire from the Methodist Conference after 40 years of service since his ordination in 1945.
A farewell dinner honoring the Rev. and Mrs. Roger Megli and daughter was held Sunday at the First Baptist Church. The Meglis left Tuesday for Holton where he will accept a new charge.
A reception honoring the retirement of Alice Cooper, longtime member of the Peabody Elementary School faculty, drew a large crowd last Wednesday.
