DAYS OF YORE: 125 years ago
The palatial residence of the editor-in-chief of this periodical is at last completed, and ye editor and family are occupying it. We might expatiate much of its merits, but will content ourselves with saying it suits us. The lumber is from both yards and the quality and goods are quite as many as can be obtained most places in Kansas. A.K. Stewart was the contracting carpenter. Dean and Johnson did the mason work. The painting was done by Pecare and his assistant, Mr. White. (Did you recognize the Morgan House?)
Miss Dalm, a long time teacher in the Florence public schools, died last Sunday morning of consumption. She was highly esteemed in that community and had many friends.
Mitchell county has a poor house an only one pauper to occupy it.
