Santa Claus came to each of the five Peabody churches this year on Christmas Eve and brought joy and gladness to the hearts of the hosts of little people he found waiting. When Santa arrived at the Baptist church he seemed tired and phoned for Jack Frost and the elves and the fairies to help. At the Christian church a tree and convenient fireplace were ready. The Lutheran church was decorated with a handsome tree, brilliantly lighted and with ropes of evergreens and Christmas bells. The children of the Methodist church gave a short program on the usual Christmas exercises and the choir gave a beautiful cantata entitled "Redeemer and King." At the Presbyterian church a beautiful song service was given and later the entire audience was invited to the banquet room where a beautifully decorated evergreen tree was sparkling with lighted candles and everyone in the audience was served ice cream and cake.
