As that day was the 71st anniversary of her birth, a number of her friends assembled at a near neighbors' and armed and equipped with a goodly supply of eatables, took the premise by storm. Mr. and Mrs. Briggs and Andy, the youngster, were thunderstruck, so to speak, the surprise being complete. A jolly time was had, a few presents made, and a good, square lunch spread by the visitors, of whom 30 were present. If the weather had not been rainy, several more would have been there.
